The material and content in the book is great. It comes with three sections, and section two, the section that helps you study for the chapters, was the reason why I bought this book. It has outlines which pull out important parts of the text that would most likely be on the test. It also has practice quizzes that help prepare for the tests as well. The book helps you review maps and gives you examples of what you should memorize to pass the test. It has helped me score a lot better, and it should help anyone who puts a little time into it while reading.The bad things about this book: it doesn't include the answers to the quizzes, it's a workbook format, and it's expensive. For a rip out page, workbook style, cheap paper book, it isn't worth the price it's listed at in my opinion. Even though it's a good study and review tool, the book itself isn't worth the money. For the price, it should be a hardcover colored picture printed book.With content being rated 5 stars and priced rated at 3, I think this book deserves a 4 star rating.

I love this book. Not only is it smaller than the other books I have to carry, but there are lots of pictures that illustrate their points as well as get the reader interested.

Is always good to have digital for convenience. Is easier to look up vocabulary words and phrases. Less load to carry around school. Is the same as hardcopy.

I rented this for my cultural geography class this past semester and it was an extremely helpful textbook. It was one of the few textbooks that isn't a headache to read. All the information was clear and easy to understand. I would not have gotten an A without this textbook!

Price is grate and it's the book I need for class at 160 less than the college

I bought this book for my 16-year-old son who has a passion for geography and he requested the book for Christmas. I bought the book used but I didn't want him to know but there was personal stickies left inside the book and there were a couple of pages that were not entirely legible but overall he was satisfied the purchase.

Many of the pictures show up in pink and green rather than the correct colors. Seeing as how this book has quite a few pictures, I find this really annoying (the maps are okay though, it's just the actual images that are weird). I would expect better from an ebook. The book itself is also poorly written, with many sentences repeated almost word for word multiple times throughout a single chapter.

I bought this book as a required book for an online Human Geography course. It was actually really interesting! I've never actually enjoyed a textbook before this one! I would definitely recommend staying on top of your studies if you are taking a similar course because there was a lot to cover.

Wow it was right on a nerve, It hit home with me. This book and author puts addiction in a whole new light. I am very glad that people are starting to look into addictions and how to be set free from them.

Excellent series of books on the scriptural perspective of addiction.

About the Author

Robert L. Kelly began collecting arrowheads in farmers' fields when he was 10 years old. He has participated in archaeological research since 1973, when he was a sophomore in high school. He has worked on excavations in North and South America and conducted ethnographic research in Madagascar. He currently is conducting research into the archaeology of Wyoming's Bighorn and Absaroka Mountains, and Glacier National Park. A former president of the Society for American Archaeology and current editor of American Antiquity, Kelly has published over 100 articles and books, including The Foraging Spectrum: Diversity in Hunting and Gathering Societies (1995) and The Lifeways of Hunter-Gatherers (2013). Dr. Kelly has been a professor at the University of Wyoming since 1997.

I am reading this because I must. I still have a flicker of hope that one day there will be a college text book that doesn't rival Ambien in fighting insomnia. This book isn't it.It is slightly less boring than comparable texts. I contains a few interesting tid-bits of information. And as far as being "A Beginner's Guide to Why We Dig up Things", well, it gets the job done. Just read it after you've had your first two cups of coffee, not before, and all will be well

Bought this for a text book for my archaeology class. Cheaper on Amazon then it was in the uni book shop which was a plus and it arrived earlier than expected.Of what I have read, it is very informative with a hint of humor here and there. Making what could be a very boring read l, fun and intresting.Though o might be a little biased as I do love archaeology!

But it's still a textbook and still boring if you're not that interested in the field. I used it for my archaeology class and It's definitely not a book I would pick up just for fun

rented for a class I dropped. lousy book.

Still fairly expensive but a lot better than buying it from the school books store.

Dr Ola Abdalkafor is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Essex. Her research interests focus on postcolonial, Arab and Islamic studies.
